Merci Poupou Collection: A Tribute to Poulidor at the Tour de France
The Alpecin–Premier Tech team once again brings a touch of nostalgia to the Tour de France with a retro design inspired by the era of legendary cyclist Raymond Poulidor, affectionately known as “PouPou.”

During both rest days, the riders of the Belgian squad will take to the roads in distinctive colours to honour the legacy of Mathieu van der Poel’s grandfather while also supporting a foundation that donates part of the jersey sales proceeds to charitable causes.

Every Jersey at the Tour de France has a meaning

Jerseys and their colours are inseparable from the Tour de France. The yellow jersey for the race leader, the green jersey for the best sprinter, the polka-dot jersey for the King of the Mountains, and the white jersey for the best young rider are symbols recognised even by people outside the cycling world. These traditions help create the race’s unique atmosphere and connect the present with the rich history of the sport.

The Merci PouPou series continues at the Tour

For several years now, our brand has also been part of this history. Apparel bearing our logo will appear at the Tour de France for the seventh time, through teams we have equipped in the past or continue to equip today. One of the projects closely associated with the Tour is the Alpecin–Premier Tech retro collection, which has become exceptionally popular among cycling fans.

Each year, the special design is also available through our online store, allowing fans from around the world to own a piece of this unique collection. Part of the proceeds is donated through the team’s foundation to charitable projects supporting children and young people from diverse social and life circumstances. The foundation helps those who participate in sports, strive to remain active, or are seeking a path back into everyday life.

This year’s Tour de France will be no exception. During both rest days, the riders of Alpecin–Premier Tech will head out on their recovery rides wearing historic retro colours that celebrate Raymond Poulidor’s legacy while supporting a worthy cause. This year’s jersey is based on the design Poulidor wore during his final professional season in 1977.
